Remember last year’s “slutty little glasses” trend? This summer’s answer is the same wire frame, but with tinted lenses in a variety of shades. Think Imagine-era John Lennon, or even Justin Timberlake circa 2000, and you’re on the right track. Leading the charge this season is Margot Robbie (above), whose method-dressing on the Wuthering Heights red carpets and photo-calls has given us a procession of Brontë-inspired fashion, finished with a pair of Jacques Marie Mage angular specs. To channel Robbie’s “complex heroine” look, go for a slimmer, rectangular style. Otherwise, be led by your face shape. Cutler and Gross’s Bowie frame, made in collaboration with handmade jewellery brand The Great Frog, adds instant cool and with their red hue are suitably Wuthering Heights coded. Meanwhile, Ace & Tate’s Kenji style are a wallet-friendly way to get the look. Top Google search terms for the optical vision board? Lisa Bonet + 1988 + top hat. Thank us later.
